We provide comprehensive orthopedic sports medicine care for San Diego patients, with expertise in the shoulder, knee, hip, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
Sports injuries can affect athletes and active individuals at every level. Dr. Samagh evaluates and treats injuries involving the shoulder, knee, hip, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues, helping patients understand their options and safely return to the activities they enjoy.
We provide advanced shoulder care for conditions ranging from sports injuries to degenerative joint disease. Surgical treatment may include rotator cuff repair, labral repair, shoulder fracture surgery, total shoulder replacement, and reverse total shoulder replacement.
Knee injuries can limit mobility and make it difficult to participate in sports or everyday activities. Our treatment options include ACL reconstruction and repair, meniscus surgery, and patellar or quadriceps tendon repair, with treatment recommendations based on each patient's injury, goals, and activity level.
Dr. Samagh specializes in hip care, including hip arthroscopy for labral repair and reconstruction and surgical treatment for hip bursitis. Hip preservation approaches can help appropriate patients address structural problems while maintaining as much of the natural hip joint as possible.
When surgery is appropriate, minimally invasive techniques may allow orthopedic conditions to be treated through smaller incisions and with less disruption to surrounding tissues. Dr. Samagh uses advanced surgical techniques when appropriate for the patient's specific condition and treatment goals.

We offer regenerative orthopedic therapies for selected patients seeking non-surgical options for joint pain, osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, and soft-tissue conditions. Treatment options include PRP, Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC), Interfyl®, and Hyaluronic Acid.

Dr. Sanjum Samagh is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist whose education and training combine orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and regenerative therapies.
His extensive academic and clinical background includes:
- Stanford University: Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Master of Science in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neuroscience
